March - April 2002

It goes on slowly.

Half-March. the engine is finished !
April 12th. I get back the frame and the main fork from the painter.
April 13th. I put the engine in the frame with the help of "Ratsman"(™) :o)
As we are here we put the back the fork and bar too.
April 14th, Sunday. The wheels go to their place and then the tanks, the exhaust pipes an dthe kick starter...
Nothing is really screwed tight, it's just to have a complete view !
I still need a front wheel... the one on pictures is too much rusted to be used.

June 2002

After riding under the rain I finally installed a front fender :o) ...Bur the skinny front wheel (4.00 x 18") didn't look nice with the large fender. So I install a 5.00 x 16". The rear wheel has known the same change, bye bye to the extra large 15" !

Now the look of the Chief is more and more near to the origin... with some miscelaneous details (rear brake, generator, foot boards)... well, let say it is a mixed bits of parts from 1940 to 1945 :o)
